We have compiled a list of tournament groups that service Illinois for those fishermen interested
in competitive fishing in Illinois.

Tournament
Groups by Species list. It is organized alphabetically by species, including tournaments
for bass, catfish, crappie, musky, and walleye.
It is provided in Adobe Acrobat format (pdf) for easy viewing or

The distinction between groups labeled as fishing clubs and tournament groups is a thin line. Often
fishing clubs are local groups, hold monthly meetings, draw members from a small area, and may not
require an entry fee to participate in their tournaments.
Some of the groups included in the fishing club category are merely weekly or monthly tournaments
sponsored by a local bait shop or boat dealer. Some of the groups included in the tournament group
category have characteristics of a fishing club.
Tournament groups often have a wider area of coverage for their tournaments and their membership.
They require a membership fee and entry fees to participate in their tournaments and do not normally
have monthly meetings.
Some tournament groups are regional organizations that hold one yearly tournament in Illinois while
others are groups that have several separate divisions that service distinct areas of the state.
Formats and entries fees also vary.
Individual tournaments that are open tournaments or memorial tournaments held by a fishing club
or tournament group will be included on our Events page. They are one-time events sponsored
by a club or organization to raise funds, remember a friend, or contribute to a charity.
IL Fishing.com has attempted to separate the various groups in the two categories of local
fishing clubs and tournament groups. Since the distinctions are subtle, check both web pages
to ensure that you find the appropriate group.
