Illinois River, near Bath, Aug. 6-7   The 2010 "Original" Redneck Fishing Tournament will be held on the Illinois River near Bath on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 6-7.  All events will be held at the Boat Tavern, 218 West First Street in Bath.  There will be live music, a food stand, raffles, kids events, and a $50 per boat tournament.  Admission is $3 per person or $5 for the weekend.   A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to "Tommy's Angels" to aid childhood cancer patients.  For information call Betty DeFord at 309-546-2545 or 309-546-2957 or visit:  myspace.com/rednecktournament.


Rend Lake, Aug. 28   The 5th Annual Chad Morgenthaler Bass Tournament to benefit Special Olympics Illinois will be held Saturday, Aug. 28 at the Sailboat Harbor Ramp at Rend Lake.  The buddy team event has an entry fee of $175 per team, which includes the big bass pot.  Entry fees increase to $200 per team after 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20.  There will be several pro fishermen on hand, food, and a "beat the pro" contest. The pre-tournament meeting, dinner, and auction starts at 6 p.m. Friday night at the Rend Lake Resort.  There is a 150-boat limit with registration from 3:00- 5:30 p.m. Friday.   For information contact Jeff Henson by calling 1-800-394-0562, or email:  jhenson@soill.org


Lake Jacksonville, Aug. 29  The 1st Air National Guard Family Support Open Buddy Bass Tournament will be held at Lake Jacksonville from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29  The open buddy team event will benefit the ANGFSG with $25 of every entry fee being donated to the group.  Teams will pay a $130 entry, including the donation and $5 big bass pot.  There will be a pre-tournament meeting at 5:30 a.m. Sunday.  Take off positions will be determined by the order in which entries are received.  For information contact Steve Parker by calling 217-741-4255, or email:  nitro190@springnet1.com

East Fork Lake, Sept. 4   The City of Olney White Squirrel Fall Open Bass Tournament will be held from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4 at East Fork Lake in Olney.  The $125 entry per team will include the big bass pot.  First place will pay a guaranteed $5,000 and trophies will be awarded to the top three teams and the big bass winner.  100 percent of all entries received will be paid to the 2nd through 10th place teams.  Take-off positions will be in the order of entries received.  A valid City of Olney boat license is required.  For information visit:  http://www.ci.olney.il.us/   email   olneyil@wabash.net  or call Belinda Henson at: 618-395-7302, Ext. 3.


Lake Kinkaid, Sept. 25   The Illinois Muskie Tournament Trail is adding a youth trial consisting of three tournaments for 2010.  The Illinois Muskie Youth Tournament Trail will hold a no-entry-fee tournament at Lake Kinkaid on Saturday, Sept. 25.  The team event can be entered by either one or two youths per team who were enrolled in grades K-12 at the beginning of the 2009 school year.   Each team must also have an adult in the boat to supervise and operate the boat. Individual and team awards will be available.  Each of the three events will be sponsored by a local muskie club that will provide educational information about safety and muskie fishing techniques, food, and prizes.   For information about the Lake Kinkaid tournament contact Dan or Renee Johnson by calling 618-655-0640, or email:  djohns16@gmail.com
