Lake Michigan coho and chinook salmon snagging season opens and continues through December 31. Anglers are allowed a five-fish daily creel limit with no more than three fish of any one species.
Statewide, Oct 18
Illinois Fall Catchable Trout Season will begin statewide on October 18 at 5 a.m. 70,000 trout are expected to be stocked in 30 ponds and lakes throughout the state prior to the opening of the season. Anglers must have a fishing license and an inland trout stamp, unless they are under 16 years of age, blind or disabled, or are an Illinois resident on leave from active duty in the Armed Forces. The daily limit for each angler is five trout.
