Wired2Fish.com and Sam Leman Automotive Group sponsored an
appearance this week by several of the top bass pros who fish the B.A.S.S. and FLW tournament circuits.
There was an autograph, photo op, and question and answer session held at Sam Leman Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Bloomington.
The following day a tournament was held at Lake Evergreen, with the pros being partnered with local anglers.
The pros who participated in the event included Denny Brauer, Gary Klein, Mark Davis, Tommy Biffle, Shaw Grigsby, Mike McClelland, Scott Suggs, Jeff Kriet, Matt Herren, Jason Quinn, and Jared Lintner.
The tournament was a team format with the weight of the local angler being added to the pros catch to determine the winning team.

As usual, the pros had to contend with a mixture of weather during their fishing day, including sun, cloud cover, variable winds, and rain.
At days end, Scott Suggs and local angler Bryan Estes of Tremont won the event with a five-fish limit weighing 19.66 pounds.
"We caught our fish on a topwater Pop R and on soft plastics," Suggs said at the weigh-in.
Tommy Biffle, fresh off his fourth place finish at the B.A.S.S. Mississippi River tournament, and Jerry Martoglio of Bloomington finished in Second Place with five fish that weighed 13.43 pounds.
"This is my first time to fish this lake and a Sweet Beaver is what caught my bass," stated Biffle.

Third Place was Denny Brauer and Brad Norris of Hudson with a total of 13.41 pounds.
There were eight limits of fish weighed with most teams catching 12-14 pounds of bass.
As is often the case in tournament fishing, a variety of techniques and baits were successful.
Fourth Place finisher Jeff Kriet was happy with his day. "We caught about 25 keepers on spinning rods, light line, and soft plastic baits, with a few on small crankbaits."
Pro Shaw Grigsby said that he and his partner caught most of their bass on "Senko-type" baits.

The event was a change of pace for the pros and afforded them some time to relax and fish for fun between tournaments.
The next event for B.A.S.S. is mid-August in Syracuse, NY at Oneida Lake, while the FLW Tour fishes July 9-12 at Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh, NY.
